Although it's cafe is quite small, can't house lots of people but it's still helpful. A good effort at least.Aieshahttp://www.aicha-ib.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9009876105545684856.post-58536169078949429112011-10-05T15:11:37.723+05:002011-10-05T15:11:37.723+05:00One thing before I die kinda wish I have is to vis...One thing before I die kinda wish I have is to visit Lahore...and if I keep reading such texts, then that day might come sooner than I have imagined. And,one earnest request, can I expect a novel set in Pakistan from you ? It would indeed be wonderful for me to read a novel written from your quill.Sushrut Padhyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09263504082024111247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9009876105545684856.post-39825171378871430812011-08-30T07:43:20.921+05:002011-08-30T07:43:20.921+05:00There is no doubt that we have dearth of public li...There is no doubt that we have dearth of public libraries and book shops. In ongoing financial circumstances, one cannot hope that the government will spare some funds for the purpose. However, one can initiate an e-club/e-library sort of thing, which can help people in the nearby locality to exchange their books. Although this idea does not give you the ambience of a library but can help the dying culture of book-reading.Adeelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15737286483376996789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9009876105545684856.post-62292918568402425802011-07-30T12:20:21.772+05:002011-07-30T12:20:21.772+05:00This comment has been removed by the author.ghhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05828623705179342619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9009876105545684856.post-68288482055933804332011-07-19T11:03:57.596+05:002011-07-19T11:03:57.596+05:00readings is like the store u mention! We go there and sit for hours in the coffee shop, read books and then buy them or as i once did, i actually finished a whole book there!<br />And ferozsons is now dead, the staff is horrible and it is almost bankruptAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9009876105545684856.post-60800307599160588112011-07-15T19:24:29.796+05:002011-07-15T19:24:29.796+05:00even when book stores which stock contemporary lit...even when book stores which stock contemporary literature do open, they close down just as quickly, because, i think, the people of Lahore are completely disinterested in books, with films and television being more popular. Barring Readings, which is successful solely due to its a) everything under one roof and clearly categorized set-up and b) due to its plethora of used as well as new books, and The Last Word, which isn't so much successful as it is appealing to a niche crowd in a wealthier area, there aren't any hugely successful bookstores, certainly not on the level of Borders or Barnes & Noble. In Defence, especially, over the past 5 years, bookshops have been closing like crazy, with DVD stores taking their places.Asif Nawaz Shahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06298017870115347449noreply@blogger.com
